Modular vinyl flooring, including rigid core floating systems and glue down LVP and LVT is often noted as being a “race to the bottom” when it comes to pricing, many times at the expense of quality. As the fastest growing category of floor covering for the last several years, the market is flooded with options, and not surprisingly, they are not all created equal. Making matters more difficult to navigate, many of the ASTM standards pertain to the minimum requirement of the flooring category. So, how do you make sure you are getting the quality you need for a particular project? Less than roughly 5-10% of all RC/LVT/LVP on market is made by the company on the samples, books, and displays.
